Pellet culture experimental design. Mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSCs) and nasal chondrocytes (NCs) were first expanded in monolayer (bar represents 100 μm), after which they were seeded in 15 mL tubes (1 million cells/tube/mL) in basal medium (BM). Cells were centrifuged and the pellets obtained cultured at 37°C, 5% CO2. After 24 h, the pellets were cultured in three distinct conditions: (A) BM; (B) chondrogenic medium (CM); (C) CM supplemented with γ-PGA (0.2 mg/mL) during a period of 14 or 21 days.
