NX1β increases the mRNA level of the immediate early gene c-fos. Cortical neurons were grown for 8 days and treated with different concentrations of recombinant NRXN1b for 2 h. Total RNA was isolated, and mRNA levels were assessed using RT-PCR. The results from n = 4 experiments are expressed as a percentage ± SEM. ∗ P < 0.05, compared with the untreated control set at 100%.
