The fibrinogen tertile limits were <2.67 g l⁻¹, 2.67 to 3.34 g l⁻¹ and ⩾3.34 g l⁻¹. The EBV DNA tertile limits were <326 copies ml⁻¹, 326 to 11 333 copies ml⁻¹ and ⩾11 333 copies ml⁻¹.
