(a) The impairment of LTP induced by perfusion with SB431542 (thirty minutes before tetanus) is rescued by TGF-β1 (ten minutes before tetanus). (b) Western blot analyses shows that SB431542 treatment blocks the physiological phosphorylation of CREB expected after a strong tetanus, whereas TGF-β1 rescues p-CREB levels in SB431542-treated tetanized slices.
