(Case 3) Pulmonary mucormycosis appearing as a mass with the halo sign on CT in a 22-year-old male patient with T-lymphoblastic leukemia. Chest CT taken at admission (a) shows a 3.5 cm mass with a halo on CT in the right lower lobe of the lung. Follow-up CT taken six days later (b) demonstrates the increased size of the mass with internal low attenuating necrosis. A small amount of right pleural effusion is noted.
