Mean egg-to-adult viability ± s.e. for field and laboratory reared flies across a range of constant developmental temperatures. We assessed egg-to-adult viability with laboratory flies after three generations in the laboratory and with freshly collected field flies. The performance curves obtained from the logistic regression are represented with a solid and a punctuated line for laboratory and field flies, respectively. The performance curves, as well as the plotted values, are standardized to the average performance at 20 and 25°C within each treatment. * P < 0.05, ** P < 0.01.
