Phenotypic analysis of X. cannabis on different plants. Symptom development and HR were evaluated on barley, pepper, and tobacco. Leaves were inoculated by needleless infiltration with water-bacterial suspensions of X. cannabis NCPPB 3753, NCPPB 2877 (OD600 = 0.5) or water as a control. Images were taken 48 h post inoculation for barley and tobacco, or 4 days post inoculation for pepper. The barley pathogen, X. translucens pv. translucens strain UPB787, served as a positive control for symptoms on barley. Plants were grown in a growth chamber at 22°C, 50% humidity and 16 h of light.
