Recombinant hMPVs triggered a high level of neutralizing antibody titer in cotton rats. Cotton rats were immunized with each recombinant hMPV intranasally at a dose of 1.0 × 106 PFU per rat. Blood samples were collected from each rat weekly by retro-orbital bleeding. The hMPV neutralizing antibody was determined using a plaque reduction neutralization assay as described in Materials and Methods. Data are the average titers from four cotton rats ± standard deviations.
