Immunohistochemical (IHC) staining of lungs from cotton rats vaccinated by rhMPV mutants followed by rhMPV challenge. Lung tissues were fixed in 4% (vol/vol) phosphate-buffered paraformaldehyde. Deparaffinized sections were stained with monoclonal antibody against the hMPV matrix protein (Virostat, Portland, ME) to determine the distribution of viral antigen.
