For the OG case, we set βOG = βMC/p and for the UG case, we set βUG = βMC/p to ensure similar relative weighting of the data-fit and regularization terms and hence similar levels of regularization-induced bias. For each value of βMC, the OG and MC cases have similar bias and the UG and MC cases have similar standard deviation. The OG standard deviation is much higher due to fewer emission events. The UG bias is high due to the inaccuracy in the data model, which does not account for motion effects.
