Evolution of the body mass of immunocompetent C57BL/6 mice bearing subcutaneous MC38 tumors during, and after, treatment with 5-FU-loaded PBCA NPs (5-FU-PBCA) (a) and with 5-FU-loaded PCL NPs (5-FU-PCL) (b). The masses of the mice and the tumors were measured as described in “MATERIALS AND METHODS.” Treatment with blank NPs induced similar losses in body mass as those produced by the controls. Free 5-FU and both 5-FU-loaded NPs treatments induced similar loss in mouse body mass in relation to the controls (p < 0.001). Data represents mean value ± SD (n = 10)
