Adipose tissue inflammation correlates with circulating insulin levels – (A) Expression levels of CCL2 and IL6 mRNA in AT positively correlated with circulating insulin levels, but not BMI, in obese subjects. Depicted are results from 36 obese subjects. Multivariate linear regression analysis was also carried out and confirmed a significant correlation between insulin and CCL2 (P < 0.05) and IL1b (P < 0.05) with a trend for IL6 (P = 0.07).
