Schematic diagram of overall experimental design: 43 compounds were identified and selected at the DDU, University of Dundee. Effects of compounds on the kinematic parameters of human spermatozoa were assessed using CASA. Compounds that have robust and effective stimulation on sperm motility were selected for further testing (Phase 2) to determine their effect(s) on sperm function, including experiments on patient samples.
