Engineering S. cerevisiae to produce polyunsaturated fatty acids (FAs). Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry analysis of FA methyl esters derived from the phosphatidylcholine fraction of wild-type yeast cultures transformed with the empty pYESBOP vector (A), pYES + F2F3 (B) and pYES + F2F3 + P1 (C) constructs. pYES + F2F3 + P2 produced similar results to that of pYES + F2F3 + P1.
