Comparison of histone H3 levels in patients with or without organ dysfunction. Circulating levels of histone H3 in patients with renal dysfunction (creatinine > 2.0 mg/dL), hepatic dysfunction (total-bilirubin > 2.0 mg/dL), and thrombocytopenia (platelet count < 10 × 10⁴/mm³) are compared to those in the patients without organ dysfunction.
