ssp promoter–reporter analysis. All strains harbor the Pssp-lux reporter plasmid. (A) Uninduced overnight cultures of control and WAirR were diluted 1:300, incubated at 37°C with 25 ng/ml of inducer ATc. (B) Uninduced overnight cultures AH1263 and AH2084 were diluted 1:1000 and incubated at 37°C. OD600_nm and bioluminescence readings were measured every 30 min with 1 min of mixing before each reading in a BioTek Synergy II spectrophotometer. The light intensity values for each time point are given as relative light units (RLU), Lum reading/OD600_nm reading for each time point. Data presented are the mean of three independent colonies.
