Representative gastrocnemius muscle histological images, taken from mice in the intact vehicle control or dexamethasone control groups. Samples from gastrocnemius muscle were separated and fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin, then embedded in paraffin, sectioned and stained with H&E for general histo-pathological analysis or with Sirius red for the detection of collagen fibers, and the histopathological profiles of each sample were determined by light microscopy.
