Intracellular L. monocytogenes was a minor proportion of total CFU in the MLN. BALB mice were coinfected with equal proportions of L. monocytogenes SD1902 (InlAm) and L. monocytogenes SD2800 (ΔinlA) for a total inoculum of 5 × 108 CFU, and MLN were harvested 3 days postinfection.
