Six1 upregulates CTGF expression in glioblastoma cells. (A) Six1 correlates with CTGF in GBM tissue samples as determined by quantitative PCR (r = 0.325, P = 0.020). (B and C). The effect of Six1 on the expression of CTGF protein (B) and mRNA (C) was examined in U-87 and U-118 cells. GAPDH was used as an internal control. (D). CTGF promoter activity is shown to be responsive to increased amounts of a Six1 expression vector, using a luciferase reporter. *P < 0.05.
