At 5 and 7 d.p.i., transcripts were classified as either “upregulated” or “downregulated,” then split into groups according to the ratio of a Hpa-local response (measured as the log2 fold-change between Hpa-local cells and uninfected cells at that time point) and a Hpa-distal response (the fold-change between Hpa-distal and uninfected cells).
