Notes: (AD) Hematoxylin and eosin-stained oral squamous cell carcinoma specimens representative of POI types I, II, III, and IV, respectively. (EH) MMP-1 expression differed by POI type: the higher the grade of invasion, the stronger the expression of MMP-1. (IL) PAR-1 expression differed by POI types, similar to MMP-1. Strong staining was also clearly observed in the cytoplasm of both tumor and inflammatory cells. (MP) The expression strength of CD105 differed by POI type.
