Modulation of basal ATPase activity by indenoindoles.

Notes: The effects of 2 μM compounds from the different series on the vanadate-sensitive ATPase activity of ABCG2 were tested on 10 μg of ABCG2-containing membrane vesicles (prepared from Sf9 cells overexpressing human ABCG2, and loaded with cholesterol). The specific basal ATPase activity of the control without inhibitor, taken as 100%, was 7.0±0.4 nmol ATP hydrolyzed/min × mg of proteins. Two reference inhibitors, Ko14313 and chromone 1,35 were used under the same conditions for comparison.
