The EDTA extracts from the insoluble matrices (EISM) and soluble matrices (ESM) of the prismatic layer, the EISM and ESM of the nacreous layer were applied to SDS-PAGE and subjected to western blot analysis by using anti-rKRMP-3 antibody or preimmune serum as a control. The arrow indicated that KRMP3 existed in the EISM of the prismatic layer. The con lane is the control group incubated with preimmune serum.
