A and B, Protons subject to initial diffusion sensitizing gradient (A) get dephased and result in loss of MRI signal intensity. These stationary protons (B), once subjected to rephasing gradient, acquire complete rephasing. Resultant MRI signal intensity is high (same as baseline).
