Macaques that had received ART, auranofin, and BSO displayed higher posttherapy levels of Gag-specific, IFN-γ-producing natural killer (NK) cells than control animals. PBMCs were stimulated with SIV-specific Gag peptides for 24 h to evaluate T-cell-dependent production of IFN-γ by CD56+ NK cells. Data are expressed as a mean ± range. Time points were selected on the basis of the documented presence of ELISpot responses and on sample availability.
