Urine samples were obtained from 21 patients with kidney injury (AKI, acute kidney injury, n = 3; CKD, chronic kidney disease, n = 18) as well as 21 healthy individuals as controls. (A) KIM-1 levels were measured and expressed based on the calibration from S1A Fig, without any dilution (100% urine). (B) Cystatin C levels were measured and expressed based on calibration from S1B Fig, after 5X dilution in PBS (20% urine). * = p < 0.002, ** = p < 0.0001.
