The inhibitory effect of crude saponin fraction (CSF) on platelet aggregation induced by collagen. Platelets (3 × 108/mL) were preincubated with or without CSF (50–400 μg/mL) in the presence of 1mM CaCl2 for 2 min at 37°C. The platelet aggregation was then induced by 2.5 μg/mL of collagen, and the extent of aggregation was measured with a Chrono-Log aggregometer (A). The aggregation reaction was terminated after 5 min, and the percentage aggregation rate was calculated.
