Solution-phase CD spectra for the BASE-C peptide at pH 7 for two different peptide concentrations. The assembly of stable coiled-coil homodimers, indicated by Θ222/Θ208≥1 (see inset), occurs at pH 7 when the concentration of peptides in solution is 650 μm. In contrast, for a 65 μm solution we only observe Θ222/Θ208≥1 above pH 11.
