Decellularization confirmation. Histology images taken at 20x of H&E (A) and Masson’s trichrome (B) staining of decellularized skeletal muscle shows preservation of ECM architecture, with perimysium (large arrows) and endomysium (small arrows) identifiable (scale bars are 200 um). Scanning electron images at 500x comparing fresh (C) and decellularized (D) skeletal muscle shows preservation of the honeycomb-like endomysium, while cellular content of the muscle fiber is removed during decellularization (scale bars are 10 um).
