lsm1-9, lsm1-14, and lsm1-9,14 alleles do not cause dominant inhibition of BMV RNA2 translation when overexpressed in WT yeast cells. WT yeast strain was transformed with a plasmid transcribing BMV RNA2 and 2µ plasmids expressing LSM1, lsm1-9, lsm1-14, or lsm1-9,14 alleles (indicated on top). Accumulations of RNA2, 2a and Lsm1 protein were analyzed by Northern (NB) and Western (WB) blot. Histogram shows the average and standard error of the mean of the relative accumulation of 2a protein relative to the amount of RNA2 for at least three independent colonies. Relative accumulation of 2a protein relative to the amount of RNA2 represented in histogram as described for Figure 2. The average value obtained in WT cells expressing an empty plasmid was set to 100.
