Phylogenetic tree of the NC10 phylum 16S rRNA gene sequences from inoculum (Ino) and enrichment culture (Enr) after 16 months, with Acidobacteria as the outgroup. The tree was calculated using the neighbor-joining method and the p-distance submodel. The sequence similarities of the 16S rRNA genes of the reference sequences and “Ca. Methylomirabilis oxyfera” are indicated after the sequence indicators in percentages. Groups A, B, C, and D were classified as described by Ettwig et al. (8); group E was newly classified in this work and was distantly related to “Ca. Methylomirabilis oxyfera,” with similarities lower than 90%. The bootstrap value is 1,000, and the scale bar is 5%.
