Onset of leaf movement of a plantlet of C. ensiformis germinated in continuous darkness. Initially the leaf was frozen in the ‘up’ position but began to oscillate when returned to the greenhouse on 3/3/1926, as though in response to the succession of Etide turning points. Some leaftide turning points coincide with the maximal and minimal rates of change of δ(δg), marked with filled and open circles (•, ○), respectively. Conventions are the same as for Figs 2 and 3.
