Intra-cell wall void space. Dilute acid pretreatment caused an increase in void spaces of Sf and Par revealing a loosening structure of M. × giganteus cell walls after pretreatment. Moderate treatment, 160°C, 0.5% H₂SO₄ for 15 min; severe treatment, 170°C, 1% H₂SO₄ for 30 min.
