Bottom: analysis of the analogous extract, produced with addition of about 0.1 mg of 4epi to the sample of senescent Sp. wallisii leaves, followed by usual work-up. Note: the oxidized NCCs obtained with the endogenous NCC 4 and the added NCC 4epi show different retention times, whereas only a single YCC 7 is produced.
