Hydrogen peroxide production after partial- and complete glutamine- and glucose starvation for short term exposures and after 7 days. Hydrogen peroxide generation in HeLa cells (a) and MDA-MB-231 (b) after exposure to media presenting with different metabolic conditions did not change in any statistically significant manner (P-value > 0.05). In addition, cell recovery by propagating exposed HeLa cells (c) and MDA-MB-231 (d) in DMEM containing 6 mM glucose and 1 mM l-glutamine for 7 days was unsuccessful and demonstrating increased hydrogen peroxide production.
