Total daily fecal pellet discharge did not differ by day in the enclosure in Groups 1 and 2. C. Total daily fecal pellet discharge was higher for Group 3 unhandled rats on the first day in the apparatus, but stabilized. D. Daily food intake in Group 3 was lower the first day in the apparatus, but also stabilized. E. Baseline transit times were similar for all 3 groups.
