The fold change in the expression of the target genes was calculated using the 2−ΔΔCt method according to Livak and Schmittgen (2001); controls were leaves from intact plants (for herbivory and mechanical wounding assays) or from plants treated with 0.01% Triton X-100 only (for MeJA assay).
