2-fold stretched ellipsoidal nano aAPCs stimulate T-Cells superiorly to spherical nano aAPCs. Ellipsoidal and spherical aAPCs were injected intravenously into irradiated mice accompanied by 106 antigen specific CD8+ T-Cells bearing the marker Thy 1.1. “No treatment” groups received T-Cells only. (a) Blood was collected retroorbitally on day 6, 8, and 10 post injection and analyzed for the percent of CD8+ cells that were also Thy 1.1 positive. Results indicate a statistically significant increase in the percentage of antigen specific T-Cells stimulated in vivo by ellipsoidal aAPCs compared to spherical aAPCs on day 6 and 8 post injection and no aAPC control groups on all days analyzed. The mice were killed on day 10 post injection and the spleen and lymph nodes were dissected and analyzed for percent CD8+ cells that were also Thy 1.1 positive. Results show that for both (b) spleens and (c) lymph nodes, there was an increase in the Thy 1.1 positive cells in the ellipsoidal groups compared to spherical, and statistically significant increase of ellipsoidal over no-treatment. Error bars indicate the SEM of n = 3 to 5 mice per group. (* = p<0.05, ** = p<0.01, *** = p<0.001).
