(a) The Naive RL model predicts a constant probability of exploration as a function of the number of trials since the last exploration, whereas the Ideal Actor model is more likely to explore the longer it has been since the last exploration. (b) The Ideal Actor and Naive RL model were fit to each participant's data to determine which model best characterized each participant's choices.
