Determination of the nature of tyrosinase inhibition. Inhibition type was determined using Lineweaver-Burk plots. Results are mean values of 1/V, the inverse of the increase in the absorbance per minute at the different L-tyrosine concentrations. A modified Michaelis-Menten equation was utilized: 1/Vmax =1/Km(1+[S]/Ki). V denotes the velocity of the reaction, S the L-tyrosine concentration, Km the dissociation constant, and Ki the inhibitor constant.
