Vitamin D intake significantly increased with vitamin D supplementation. Vitamin D intake was measured using a modified food frequency questionnaire (FFQ). Median and range of vitamin D intake (IU/day) are shown for pre- and post-vitamin D supplementation (*p < 0.05). An FFQ was administered at 4 time points (at baseline, 4, 13 and 18 months) to assess the available vitamin D containing market foods (i.e. milk, margarine, etc.) and traditional foods (i.e. local fish, caribou fat, meat and organs). The frequency of vitamin D containing foods and portion sizes were assessed using the vitamin D values from the Canadian Nutrient File 2010 (28).
