(A) Divergence values calculated between original and jittered populations, for jitter windows ranging from 5 to 1280 ms and for populations (n=100) with mean pairwise correlations of 0.05 (blue), 0.1 (green), and 0.2 (red). The spike count correlation values were calculated in 1 s epochs. The average firing rate of the neurons was 20 sp/s. (B) Divergence values for populations firing at 5, 20 or 80 sp/s. Correlations were fixed at 0.1.
