Figure 11

Axial (top row), coronal (middle row), and sagittal (bottom row) CBCT images of the head phantom with scatter and beam hardening corrections, reconstructed by FBP, PWLS, and PWLS*. The skull base presents a challenging region for which proper account of scatter and beam hardening corrections is essential to high-quality reconstruction. The spatial resolution in each case was matched (ε = 0.40 mm) at the largest sphere in the axial slice Z1.
