Probucol does not block cholesterol deposition in TO9-treated cholesterol-enriched ABCA1^−/− macrophages. ABCA1^−/− mouse bone marrow-derived macrophages were incubated for 4 days with AcLDL (50 μg/ml) + TO9 (5 μM) without or with probucol (10 μM) before cultures were immunostained with anti-cholesterol microdomain MAb 58B1 (green fluorescence) and DAPI nuclear stain (blue fluorescence).
