(A–C) β-gal stained sections of the wound at day 7 post wounding demonstrated increased LacZ-positive cells in Ad-Ang-1-treated wounds, signifying that they are BM derived cells that express the endothelial marker Tie2 which were quantified as EPCs, in comparison to fewer LacZ-positive cells in PBS or Ad-GFP control wounds with statistical differences in LacZ-positive EPCs per high powered field (40×, EPCs/HPF) between the three treatments at day 7 post wounding.
