a. Anatomical distribution of expectation-modulated valence electrodes. In several ROIs, we show the fraction of valence-encoding electrodes that were modulated by reward expectation. We only included regions from which we observed valence-encoding electrodes from at least five subjects. b. Patterns of HFA relations with reward expectation. Post-reward HFA most frequently showed a negative relation with reward expectation (“UR electrodes”), whereas post-penalty HFA most frequently showed a positive relation with reward expectation (“UP electrodes”).
