Names were assigned based on comparison to highly similar sequences characterized primarily in insects and Daphnia, except where ambiguous (question marks). The branch of photoreceptors is shaded. All four GPCRs related to daylight vision are specific to phyllosoma. These cluster with 11 rhodopsins, 3 of which are specifically present at later stages (absent in phyllosoma), reflecting the diurnal to nocturnal shift in the phyllosoma to puerulus transition.
