Human α1-antitrypsin (hAAT) reduces interleukin-15 (IL-15) production by dendritic cells (DC) and subsequently alters natural killer (NK) cell activation profiles. (a, b) Bone-marrow-derived DC (BMDC) were pre-treated overnight with hAAT (indicated doses) and then treated with interferon-γ (IFN-γ; 10 ng/ml) for 24 hr. IL-15 and IL-15Rα levels in cell lysates.
