White, Black and “Other” respondents are of non-Hispanic ethnicity. “Other” includes respondents who self-identified as Asian, Native Hawaiian, other Pacific Islander, American Indian, Alaska Native or other. Breast cancer survivors consist of all female respondents who reported a previous diagnosis of breast cancer. Values are expressed as weighted percentage to account for differences in demographic parameters and sampling bias and are representative of the USA population

BRFSS Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System

a

Pearson chi-square test for differences in the distribution of demographic and clinical characteristics across the four racial/ethnic groups was significant (p<0.01) among breast cancer survivors

b

Pearson chi-square test for differences in the distribution of demographic and clinical characteristics across the four racial/ethnic groups was significant (p<0.01) among non-breast cancer respondents

c

Analysis of variance p value testing for differences across the four racial/ethnic groups was significant (p<0.01)
