The emotion regulation task. Each trial consisted of a neutral or sad image presented first without a regulation cue for 6–9 s, then the presentation of the regulation cue while the image remained presented for another 3 s, a period of 5 s after picture offset during which regulation continued and then a 5 s query for current affect.
